Winter
The winters in Erie, Pennsylvania are some of the worst in the country, earning the title “snowiest city in the US” multiple times. We have no protection from the brutal cold and winds that come across Lake Erie from Canada. With heavy lake-effect snow, temps often below freezing, and frequently below 0°F, this definitely makes for some intense winters. In these harsh conditions, I challenge myself to be uncomfortable, and explore what winter has to offer for landscape photography.
Much to my surprise, I discovered that there is an incredible amount of beauty to be found in the bitter cold of winter. The wind, snow, and ice create some beautiful and unique scenes that are exciting to capture.
I push myself through the discomfort, because through discomfort, we grow.
